Sure the sound quality is good and so is the noise isolation characteristics, but none of that really matters when one of your ear bud's goes out and you have to pay $50 to get it fixed. They fail in this respect. Sorry Shure, if you want to charge the money you have to make a product that's worth it. I'll keep this short and simple. For this price, these headphones should stand up to normal, or even a little rougher than normal usage.
Also, any time you replace the grids, make sure that they are placed with the adhesive side down and that they are centered properly. I had to have an expert carefully remove both items using very thin tweezers. The moral of this story is to periodically take a look at your earbuds to make certain that the grids are in place. These are great headphones, but beware of one potential problem: The small, circular adhesive grids that are placed over the sound aperture may come loose within your ear canal. Also make sure to depress the rubber ear fitting all the way down on the stem, in this way ensuring that the grid is held securely in place (these were all precautions that I took before the incident, by the way). Lo and behold, it was. I noticed that the grid was missing from the right earbud yesterday and had my parents take a very close look to make sure it wasn't lodged within my ear canal. In fact, the grid has a transparent plastic backing which separated from the grid itself, and both of them were lodged deep within my ear.
the plugs kept falling out. the product is terrible. the plugs, all the different sizes, don't fit and were very comfortable.
Very unhappy with the item. The earphones are very uncomfortable when inserted and the sound quality is poor. The store return policy does not allow for returning earphones so purchases are final.
Prior to this I had a huge pair of Koss over the ear headphones, and decided to try a pair of headphones that were a little less ridiculous looking when wearing. I have had these earphones for a few weeks now, and I would recommend anyone that has not used in your ear phone types before to give yourself some time to use them. I still will say I don't think I will ever use them as my main headphones, my Koss KSC35 simply have better sound and are much more comfortable, but for load environments they are great. After a few weeks however I have gotten used to them and find them reasonably comfortable and the sound quality pretty decent for a pair of headphones that really do well at cutting out load sounds. When I first got them I didn't like them. I found them uncomfortable and the sound quality just decent not great, but that didn't really matter so much to me since I really only got them to use for mowing the lawn.
